Queensland residents, not in their home state at the time the Queensland government shut the border to the rest of Australia, were locked out of their homes. The losses were colossal. Income, savings, financial stability, homes, careers, dignity, time with dying loved ones. It will be remembered as a time in the history of Australia when thousands of lives were thrown into utter chaos, a time when the 'lucky country' Australia became a dismal and divided nation of disenfranchised citizens. A time that has left indelible marks in the lives of so many and created divides that may never heal.

Those who endured so much have a story to tell and 'Locked Out' tells many of those stories. But it documents far more than the devastation that was caused. It documents the courage and determination of the human spirit to dog deep when others around have failed them.
